Obama to Deliver Key Speech on Immigration Reform

President Barack Obama will head to Texas next week to deliver a speech on immigration reform, the White House announced Friday, reviving an intense policy debate over one of the nation's most pressing issues. Obama will discuss the topic during a Tuesday visit to El Paso, Texas -- a town only miles from the center of drug-related violence in Mexico, that has, at times, spilled over into the US.
He will also visit the Texas capital, Austin, to raise money for his re-election campaign.
"The speech will reflect the President's continued commitment to find a bipartisan way to create a bipartisan -- rather comprehensive immigration reform," White House spokesman Jay Carney said Friday. "The fact that we were not able to achieve that in the first two years only means that we need to refocus our efforts and try to find that compromise."

See. i sure that after he won his reelection. He will not mention any immigration reform again! This issue is just a game~~ when they need the vote ,and they come in front of the media to support.

While it is true that we at the moment are just being used as pawns. I do believe he will do something in regards to Immigration after he wins reelection. At that time he will have nothing to lose.

“He didn’t think it would stand up in court,” said Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-Calif.). “His message was basically, if you’re going to overturn or change immigration policies substantially, it’s in Congress

Given the current political reality that Congress is unlikely to make any headway on immigration, Obama’s message to Hispanic lawmakers was “basically” to keep talking about the need for reform, even though nothing can pass, Cardoza said.

If he's really commited on immigration reform why doesn't he go give speeches about the need of immigration reform in the whitetest Cities around , like in Kansas, Alabama , kentucky , Oklahoma , states in which there is more resistance . That's what I think anyways .

Why doesn't he give speeches about healthcare in foreign countries?

You are asking the president to give a speech in a region where people don't care about an issue. He has the busiest job in the world and you want him to waste his time on the issue doing that?

Fuck Obama forever. Whether it's Obama, Romney, or any other Republican teabagger as President, the DREAM Act and/or CIR is DEAD, DEAD, DEAD.

2009 was our best hope and Obama and the Democrats did jack shit. Can you image us ever getting the numbers that we need again? 218 liberal Democrats (with backbones) in the House. 60 liberal Democrats (with backbones) in the Senate. A liberal Democrat (with a backbone) as President. Almost impossible.

Our only hope is to get married. Do not ever have hope in Obama or other sleazy politicians.
