Somebody get something done.
She shocks me. Why would she support taking away for dls in her state then? |
Re: Susana Martinez Slams Mitt Romney's Immigration Strategy
Dam, what a shame?! Nobody likes Romney and nobody wants to be his VP. He needs to get out of politics and get a new hobby. I bet even his dog wouldn't take the job to be his VP. lol.

I still can't trust someone who is only here because her grandfather was here illegally (allegedly) and pulled the ladder from under the others who are struggling with their status.

Re: Susana Martinez Slams Mitt Romney's Immigration Strategy
It's very (pleasantly) surprising to hear her say this, especially considering that she's been named as a potential pick as a running mate for Romney.
Why would she jab him like this? My guess is that she probably learned that she would not be offered the position and took this swing at Romney because she was pissed. There are new rumors that Romney is going to pick a safe, boring old white guy as his running mate. Edit: I just read the Daily Beast article that the Huffington Post article links to: "Martinez’s point is not that Republicans should peddle so-called “amnesty.” In New Mexico, she’s taken a lot of heat from Latinos for repeatedly pushing to repeal a state law that allows illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses; she also opposes a standalone DREAM Act, arguing that politicians can’t “fix [immigration] by saying, ‘Here’s the DREAM Act and we’re done. It has to be part of a larger plan.” So... she's actually not that great. Seems like she wants to have it both ways: no "amnesty," no to a stand-alone DREAM Act; there has to be a "comprehensive" solution, which is politically impossible, but makes her sound "wise" or "thoughtful." |
