“I don’t believe President Obama"

Ted Cruz :

“I don’t believe President Obama wants an immigration bill to pass, instead I think he wants a political issue. His objective is to push so much on the table that he forces Republicans [to] walk away from the table because then he wants to use that issue in 2014 and 2016 as a divisive wedge issue.”

This is in fact true. The Democrats put so much on the table because they want to create hatred among the Latino community against the GOP.

The Democrats want to become a dictator!

If he believed Obama he wouldn't be a Republican

In fact, so far the only CIR that became law was under the GOP administration in 1986.

It was a GOP-controlled senate that passed the last CIR bill.

The Democrats had control over both chambers and the White House during 2009-2010. But they did not do anything about immigration.

The Democrats kept the CIR until the last minute to help them gain support in the presidential election.

Time for a nationwide March against the tug of war with immigration between both parties!!

True, but it was under an "Reasonable" GOP a generation ago.

Politicization of Immigration was among both parties of the 2000s.

Contrary to belief, Democrats never had a supermajority (60) advantage because 2 Dem senators at a time were not available.

Although Democrats have an advantage with Hispanics and Immigration advocates, it's not a stronghold, and any side could paint a picture of the other side. You have to view it in the centrist viewpoint, taking in both sides.

With that I'd like to say that because of the stakes involved, the issue that was raised in the previous election; both sides must compromise and it will happen.

Believe it or not, Immigration was the an issue that was very important to Congress at the time. We had that thing, oh yeah the Great Recession. Shocking, i know. Congress was too busy trying to pull us out of that huge mess, even in my opinion that has greater priority than CIR/DA. Now it looks like everyone is pretty serious about CIR/DA.

Also, anything that Ted Cruz says I just lol at. He thinks onion news satire are real facts...sigh.

There probably is some truth to the idea that the Democrats want to hold the failure to pass CIR over Republicans. Keep the Latino vote while never actually passing any legislation.

I agree with you on this.

Keeping the fruit (CIR) always low hanging is the best strategy for the Democrats.

Make sense I have always thought of this

If a cir doesn't pass or never even gets introduced they have sometjing to used against the GOP. " we tried to but the Republicans never wanted to work something out"

The Democrats have more to win than loose

If a CIR Democrats and Obama will take credit if it doesn't pass the GOP opposd it

We are just a chess piece
