House, Senate crafting immigration reform bills

Starting at 1:31 Rep. Joaquin believes that 1/3 to 40% of the House GOP caucus could possibly support a Path to citizenship if Speaker Boehner allowed a vote for such.

I really hope Boehner breaks the Hastert rule again when CIR comes to the house for the sake of the Republican Party. He knows that long term and future elections hang at that very moment he decides whether to take up the upcoming CIR bill or not.

Boehner seems to be an enlighten speaker by breaking away from right wing nuts - even from Cantor during the debt ceiling issue. I just hope he does it again.

He is right in that sense that there is a sector of the republican party (maybe not the majority) that fear using immigration as a wedge issue before 2016. The pressure is really on Boehner to introduce the bill without partisan politics to the floor, because with those stats we could have a bipartisan effort in the house as well. Unless of course Boehner is ok on losing the other minority votes for decades to come.

Assuming the democrats vote unanimously, one-third is a good figure. We just need Boehner to let the GOP move with it.
