Texas Judge refuses asylum to members of the "Dream 30"
 

EL PASO, Texas - A West Texas judge on Friday rejected asylum applications of two immigrants who surrendered to U.S. authorities on the border with Mexico in September to protest federal immigration policies.

Attorney David Bennion said he will suspend the order on behalf of their clients, José Alfredo Cornejo and Brandon Pena Valencia. However, he added that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE, for its acronym in English) "may simply deny or ignore" the request.

One of the 25 immigrants arrested in El Paso in September was deported.

The authorities released on Tuesday 11 people group young immigrants who were brought to the United States as children, but they are not citizens because they entered the country without authorization.

They are called "dreamers" in reference to the Dream Act, a law to regularize their situation in the United States.

Not surprising, but here is the problem: The entire country saw the news a few months ago as it showed illegal immigrants showing disregard for the border and laws and coming here demanding citizenship. That did a lot of damage for us. Even if they're all deported back, there won't be even a blip in the national news about it. Maybe a story here or there if you do a search for it.

this was totally unnecessary. It was nothing more than a sideshow. It did nothing for the cause and they wrecked their lives.
