Rep. Luis Gutierrez: Immigration reform in the House ‘is over’
Most of us figured this out about seven or eight months ago.
I don't know what our odds are considering what is going on with the influx of UACs at the border that he will sign an EO, but pressure is going to definitely ramp up in the next few weeks on the administration to do something. Let's just hope for the best. Quote:

Re: Rep. Luis Gutierrez: Immigration reform in the House ‘is over’
People should worry about 2016 elections now and start asking those vying for the presidency if he or she will continue the DACA program.
Politicians are not touching immigration reform until they see themselves losing at the polls. Let's keep it real. |
Re: Rep. Luis Gutierrez: Immigration reform in the House ‘is over’
^ Only a dumb president would revoke DACA. A Republican president that revokes DACA in 2016 will seal the fate of the party.

Re: Rep. Luis Gutierrez: Immigration reform in the House ‘is over’
So now its all back to Obama's hands. I am sure he will draw another red line or another "hey I'll give you the lame duck session."
Atleast he is in power and the lesser of two evils at this moment. |
Re: Rep. Luis Gutierrez: Immigration reform in the House ‘is over’
In order to keep DACA through republican presidencies, DACA needs to be like TPS is. Once put into place you do not touch it, you do not mention it, and for the love of Uncle Sam you do not try to expand it. The more you fiddle around it - the more the opposition will pay attention to it and cry bloody murder.
It's the best if the public and the nutjobs in DC forget that it exists. |
Re: Rep. Luis Gutierrez: Immigration reform in the House ‘is over’
The republicans will not forget about DACA 2 years later they are still whining about it and trying to pass stuff to get rid of it.
