White House: Trump not open to 'Gang of Eight' immigration bill
But White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Trump does not support the Gang of Eight measure, adding he encouraged a group of senators to collaborate on a future immigration bill.
“Earlier in the meeting he said specifically at one point the Gang of Eight bill is amnesty,” Spicer told a small group of reporters in his West Wing office. “Then he said if you guys want to work on something, I’m willing to listen.” If a group of lawmakers produced such a bill, Trump said he "would be glad to look at it.” The most confusing administration ever http://thehill.com/homenews/administ...migration-bill |
Re: White House: Trump not open to 'Gang of Eight' immigration bill
Basically the Trump administration is distancing itself from past bills while at the same time supporting the core components of them! This is what Trump has been doing from Day 1. This is encouraging as far as I see it.

Well I think the confusion stems from the fact that the future modified version would still be the gang of 8's bill.
The title of this post is misleading, as Trump is not willing to sign the current version, but he's open to negotiations about modifications to it. |

What if its a "gang of 8 bill" but only for dreamers?
for example only dreamers can benefit from it, since we have gone through the entire screening process. |
