True, but if you happen to be in the wrong place at the right time, then what are the chances they will let you walk away?

There is a DACA hotline you can call if you are caught up in a raid.

From https://www.uscis.gov/humanitarian/c...sked-questions:

Quote:

Q9: If individuals meet the guidelines for consideration of DACA and are encountered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) or U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), will they be placed into removal proceedings?
A9: DACA is intended, in part, to allow CBP and ICE to focus on priority cases. Under the direction of the Secretary of Homeland Security, if an individual meets the guidelines for DACA, CBP or ICE should exercise their discretion on a case-by-case basis to prevent qualifying individuals from being apprehended, placed into removal proceedings, or removed. If individuals believe that, in light of this policy, they should not have been apprehended or placed into removal proceedings, contact the Law Enforcement Support Center’s hotline at 1-855-448-6903 (staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week).

Remain silent. Don't be stupid. Don't let yourself be intimidated or scared. This same shit was happening under Obama. We have been through this. Do not freak the fuck out.

Sorry , so you guys want no enforcement at all? Where was the uproar when Obama was doing the same?

Exactly. I mean there may be deportation orders for immigrants who do not mean any harm but unfortunately made a single mistake (e.g. carrying false IDs or lying about status to an agent); I sympathize, but the really bad ones do not deserve to be here. I am sure we all know bad apples who just do not deserve a chance.

I think it depends on what you mean by "enforcement".

During the Bush administration, immigration agents had to meet removal quotas. It takes time, manpower, money and logistics to carry out a President's enforcement priorities. It was no surprise it took this long to assemble.

However, limited manpower and logistics will require agents to go by that priority list. The thing is what happens to removal operations when everyone on a specific priority is met as agents become more efficient and funding increases? They simply target individuals in the next category, or all become a target, not simply those with orders, criminal convictions etc. I believe the President said the,"gloves are off" meaning the Obama's priorities for removal have been rescinded and agents are allowed to remove individuals at their discretion.

I mean enforcement like getting those with criminal records etc. Whether we like it or not , people are going to be deported. However, posting news articles and being up in arms over these articles that don't provide details about the backgrounds of those arrested doesn't do anyone any good.

When ICE went to the Portland courthouse they went to detained someone with a criminal offense. Didn't stop them from asking anybody there their legal status. If your folks are at the wrong place and time they can be deported
