Connecticut delegation promises continued commitment to DREAMers
 

Murphy, Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-3) met with community advocates and DACA beneficiaries in the Fair Haven Community Health Center to collect stories to bring back to Washington D.C.

He said that, although Trump has had "13 different opinions" on DACA, the Connecticut delegation is worried over threats by 10 Republican Attorneys General to end the practice by suing the Trump administration.

Blumenthal said the senators would seek to get Republican lawmakers' support, citing Sen. John McCain, R-AZ, who was recently diagnosed with brain cancer at 80 years old, as a Republican who is amenable to working with Democrats on immigration policy.

"We can get this done, even in the age of Donald Trump," Blumenthal said.

We still have time to build up momentum and support for legislation to benefit us. We have to mobilize and get our citizen friends and family involved.

Connecticut has always been on the forefront of this immigration fight. Blumenthal's office actually got my EAD renewed last year on time when they were delaying applications if you remember. I see him all the time at my gym. There are many rural parts that are conservative but Ive never encountered racism in any part of this state. People understand the immigration problem and are supportive for the most part. New Haven is a huge sanctuary city. Unfortunately it and other cities like Hartford have huge crime rates that people often end up blaming "immigrants."

If I started talking about the negative things though, I would write a novel. CT is in a very bad fiscal crisis, second after Illinois due to ballooning unfunded pension liabilities. The taxes here, and I mean there's taxes here that you've probably never heard of in your life, are outrageous. Property taxes in the cities and towns are also very very high. We are losing like big companies to other states due to this unfriendly environment. It's definitely a good state but you would have to have the financial strength to live here.

I from Illinois, so any other state is fiscally better. Lol no way to be worst from us.

I've encountered racism in Danbury. I live in the 36th worst city in the nation. I believe 2face lives in the top 10 worst city in the nation as well. All in CT.

CT is lacking jobs at the moment and trying to keep young people in the state. Crime is high in major cities of Connecticut. People steal cars, Rob you, shooting and plenty of drugs. Lots of Hispanics and blacks commits crime in this state. Lots of heroin and people overdosing. Teenagers throwing rocks at car windshields. Many car thefts. Prostitution left and right. Public schools in inner schools are a joke. I lived through it all.

Car and city taxes are high.

Overall, I will not go to another state at the moment. I love Connecticut.

I believe it will change in 20 years.



No wonder why 2Face and I have common sense, because we both went through tough neighborhoods and we are successful.
