Democratic attorney generals ready to sue if DACA doesn't continue
Ferguson said he and the other 19 attorneys general are prepared to sue if the administration doesn’t continue DACA. Any lawsuit is likely to end up before the U.S. Supreme Court, he said.
“I think (abolishing DACA) is wrong morally, and I think it’s wrong legally,” Ferguson said. “We want to communicate to the president that we expect him to defend the program.” In their letter, the 20 attorneys general argue immigrants who have been granted DACA have a positive effect on the economy, citing studies that show DACA has increased recipients’ hourly wages by an average of 42 percent. The increase, they say, gives immigrants more purchasing power, allowing them to buy homes, cars and other goods and services that help bolster the economy. They said DACA recipients also make communities safer by allowing them to report crimes to police without fear of deportation. However, opponents of DACA argue the program is unlawful and protects people who shouldn’t be in the country. Ferguson said it’s hard to determine what exactly might happen to DACA recipients if the program gets rolled back, but he said the effect on them would certainly be profound. https://www.google.com/amp/www.yakim...47c5e.amp.html This is going to be interesting. Even if conservatives outnumber liberals on the Supreme Court and they say DACA was outside the scope of presidential powers. What will they do about a million people brought here at a young age who have been benefiting for 5 years ? It may not be that cut and dry ! |

Fuck yea!!! :D
Thank you to all of these people who support out cause. We really are innocent and do not deserve punishment for what is going on. |

What does this mean? If they sue. We will keep our DACA?

Also possible, could affect whether Dreamers can or cannot be deported until the Supreme Court can rule. Possibly? Take this with a grain of salt, hard to say at this point really. Nevertheless positive. |
Re: Democratic attorney generals ready to sue if DACA doesn't continue
These are excellent news!
Personally, again not trying to sound selfish, taking any lawsuit all the way to the SCOTUS will give DACAers with pending applications an opportunity to get approved before a decision is made for such lawsuits which could possibly be in our favor anyways. Also, it puts pressure on congress to act and get a permanent solution in place and finally it sends a message to those aholes AGs we ain't going down easily and without a fight. |

19 AG on our side vs 10 against us... bless their hearts!!!!
