I got an IDEA!

Okay so what if we send our senators and governors and maybe even presidential candidates buttloads of origami (kinda like the cranes) and inside dreams and stories will be inscribed?

but how does one send a buttload of origami?

Is anyone interested? Or has a better idea.

If anything I would start this project during the summer.

Nah... They're going to give up unwrapping all of them and I doubt they're going to read it... Our stories are known, it's just that people are apathetic and doesn't want to do anything about it. (the politicans)

We should definitely some type of campaign this summer whether origamis with dream scripts or a phone/e-mail campaign.

This is a really cool idea. If not to congresspeople, then at least to the media. The only origami I can do is the fortune teller, but I'm sre I can figure something out.

I have to politely disagree. I feel that the biggest issue is that our stories are NOT known, at least not the real versions, and our biggest obstacle is to get them out there. You may not agree with the idea, but at least it was a step in the right direction, a call for action instead of sitting back and being complacent, expecting the Dream Act to happen w/o any work.

If our stories were more widely know, I also doubt the majority of people would be apathetic, at the very least to our situation. They may still disagree with what they think should be done, but I do think at least some would empathize.

In general, I do agree that we need to start thinking about the Dream Act more, especially since most of us will have at least some down time this summer. The very last thing we need is to be as unprepared as we were last fall, and we have a very good opportunity to make it better this time around (whenever that happens to be). So, if anyone has any other ideas, that would be really great. As far as the origami goes, I do think there might be a security hassle, especially thinking back to the deliveries that were tried last time. I like the symbolism though, so maybe we could incorporate it into something more security-friendly :-D

I don't know about cranes. they make me think of Hiroshima. Am I the only one with that association? (hello fourth grade history project)
