Scalise: No guarantee House GOP will consider Senate immigration bill

"I think we've been very clear that any final solution has to include funding for a wall and we've been working closely with President Trump on that," he added. Scalise also ruled out "amnesty," though he wasn't clear on how he defined it and whether it would mean a pathway to citizenship for recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy, a program that protected young undocumented immigrants who came to the US as children that Trump has decided to end. Looks like that near-death experience didn't teach him to be a better human being. |

Amnesty is defined as "an official pardon for people who have been convicted of political offenses". One of the bills that includes funding for the "wall" and other stuff trump asked, plus a path to citizenship within 10 years is something doable. Adding another 3+ million plus parents and relatives will not do well in the house.
Waiting 10+ years to become citizens is not Amnesty. I think the hardliners want to make sure only DACA eligible people benefit from this and not open the door to more people. |
Re: Scalise: No guarantee House GOP will consider Senate immigration bill
Kind a like how Trump granted Amnesty to Sheriff Joe Arpaio? Oh the hypocrisy.

So in the case nothing gets done by March 5th, do you really think they’ll kill DACA after the SCOTUS ruling? I’m thankful we can renew but what concerns me is what will happen after. Democrats won’t be able to do anything until 2021 if they win the presidency and senate and manage to keep a majority in the house were they to win it in November.

They will have to do something. The optics of dreamers recording their deportations and posting them all over the web wouldn’t play well.
