With the federal government up and running again, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, said Tuesday he was confident lawmakers could reach a deal agreeable to both sides of the immigration debate and address the status of undocumented immigrants brought into the country while they were children.

But he added Congress needs to work quickly on the issue and said he is not in favor of extending a March deadline President Trump set in October, when he announced the end of the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program.

Make a bill that just deals with actual DACA people, not the dream act. Its so stupid to do a dream act bill , its clear they don't want more people to be legal. It might sound cruel but daca people are actually in the system and ICE can come knocking on our door much sooner than people who didn't qualify for daca and are in the shadows.

So are other Dreamers with more equity than you who did not get Daca, like the 39yr old father recently deported after 30 years- he arrived at age 10.

Dream Act for all those who arrived as children. You are not more deserving, despite you deluding yourself.

He also was in the system and had an EAD as deferred action. It's not fair and the fact is that Dream Act is for childhood arrivals.

Its not that I'm more deserving, they know where we all live. Think about it, not all of us are going to expire at the same time so the cavalry will be sent out sporadically. You've got to be crazy to think that this administration would pass a dream act or comprehensive immigration reform. 800,000 peoples lives are gonna be in plain danger.

At this point, it should be about the 800k in exchange for border security.

But they better not fucking touch family sponsorship so people like me, who didn't qualify for DACA but would have qualified for something like the DA can have a chance.
