DACA immigrants rush to reregister, just 3.7 percent rejected, 699,350 accepted
A new analysis of the data by the Center for Immigration Studies said the sharp renewal uptick was unusual this year.
Since it is a two-year process, typically the applications for DACA are high one year, then low the following year. Typically, according to past patterns, 2018 would have been a “valley” year but it appears that concern the program will be killed prompted a surge in renewals and new applications. Here is how CIS described it: Because DACA status is good for two years at a time, when we look at petition data we see an oscillating pattern of peaks and valleys. USCIS began accepting applications only in August 2012. The peaks of 2013, 2015, and 2017 represent the first round of DACA recipients and their renewals. The valley years — 2014 and 2016 — are comprised of people only who did not immediately sign up for DACA. But something interesting clearly occurred in FY 2018. This should have been another valley year where there were few approvals. Instead, there was clearly a jump. Why would this be? The answer is quite simple. In the chaos since September 2017 (Trump's DACA-ending announcement), activist groups encouraged all DACA recipients to renew their status. The uptick in approvals reflects the many DACA recipients who were unaware of the program's future and rushed to renew their status. https://i.ibb.co/6XGw6GR/FFF35368-25...235-CB7-D8.png https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/w...9-350-accepted |

I wonder how much money they have made from DACA renewals in the past 1-1.5 years.

I am sending my last renewal this weekend. I don't expire until April 2020 but I want to get another year. I don't care if I have renew every year.

I'm expiring in June so i'm sending my renewal either january or february so I can get a few extra months.
The good thing is that Daca won't be heard by the Supreme Court until Spring or summer. |

I expired May 2020. Do they accept it right away? I am confused.
