Investment brokage account

I tried opening merill lynch brokerage account with boa since I would qualify for platinum status and 30 free stock and etf per month. They ask for copy of green card social and passport. Has anyone tried opening with EAD? Since when did status have to do with investment accounts?

That’s not true. I had a 401K with my job and a personal investing account with robinhood
