Trip to San Diego, CA

Hello All,

I am thinking about going to San Diego, CA next month. Do I need to worry about anything as a DACA holder? Immigration Checkpoints?

We are thinking about going to a place 30 minutes (in car) from the border.

Thanks

Nothing to worry about, just carry your EAD with you and if you're driving, don't have undocumented passengers in your vehicle.

Carry as much paperwork as possible just in case you get stopped by an asshole

I live in San Diego and visit family in LA County all the time. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks! What about driving for San Diego to LA? I saw there is an immigration checkpoint in San Clemente, through the I5 Highway. Anything to worry about?

I live in Ventura County I've been to SD twice this year. First time with my brother so he could show me the way and not accidentally end up in Mexico. We drove all the way to the Outlets at the border in San Ysidro came back the same day. 2nd time it was just myself and my daughter for 4 days we went to Legoland, Seaworld, and the SD zoo and Safari park. On our way there both times the San Clemente revision was closed however the 2nd time coming back home there was a border patrol car sitting on the side of the road CHP style ready to go and stop I'm assuming any suspicious vehicle. Just take your DACA act Normal and you'll be ok. Thats what I did and Thank God it was never need it. Have fun.

Why even risk it?
