REAL ID Travelling To Puerto Rico
I'm going to be going to Puerto Rico next month but I only have a valid State ID and EAD. My foreign passport is expired.
Will the State ID and EAD be enough to travel without any issues? |
Re: REAL ID Travelling To Puerto Rico
REAL ID isn’t enforced yet. You have until Oct 2020 to get a REAL ID or renew your passport. The TSA will remind you of this

Also, an EAD is a federally issued ID. It is REAL ID compliant

I went to the virgin islands and made a thread about the trip.

You'll be alright, I have DACA and live in PR, I've traveled in and out of PR using my DL without any issues.

Re: REAL ID Travelling To Puerto Rico
Just got back from PR yesterday. Had no problems at all. My license says not valid for federal identification and the TSA agents did not say anything. I do want to say that I saw ICE at the airport in San Juan right after tsa check. They were at a booth. So make sure you have your documents with you in case you get stopped. But you should be fine! Enjoy the beautiful beaches. I miss it already!
