Yes. Why not? My sister went to Spain and I've been to India twice (Our home country is Kenya). You just have to prove the humanitarian/medical/work reason. What you have to do is, get AP FIRST. And then you go get the visa at that particular country's consulate and when you go for the visa make sure you take your AP document with you that USCIS will send you as well as the DACA 821-D document (I found out the harsh way). You should be all set at that stage.

Can you guys share what were some of your reasons you used to get those APs approved? Both of my grandparents passed away during the Trump era. Assuming that DACA is reinstated back to the pre-2017 state, could I apply for it using "tomb sweeping" as the reason?

Once in China, could I fly to other countries for leisure or would those visa stamps on my passport cause an issue when I try to re-enter the US?

First time I used humanitarian, basically got a Doctor to write a letter saying that my grandfather is aged and ailing so i should get permission to go meet him. During that trip I had an eye procedure done. So for my second trip, I got a letter from that doctor saying that I need to "go back for a follow-up" lol....I think you may be able to get approved based on your situation but you just have to prove that they were indeed your grandparents and the fact that they died, perhaps some pictures of the tomb...

And NO, you CANNOT visit another country without AP. That just doesn't sound right. You request AP to go to one particular country for a particular reason. When you come back here the officers check your info and passport and see the stamps.

Gotcha. Thanks!

What if it's a country that has some sort of visa waiver agreement with China? Would that still show up on my passport?

I don't know all that. I would not risk it. If you get AP to visit China, you just want to go to China and nowhere else or else you risk never being allowed reentry or potentially deported from here if they find out you went elsewhere.

Re: AP Question

Question for those who have done AP before, did y'all file the AP with attorney? Attorney is asking $750 for AP, but just want to see if anyone filed it by themselves...
