Biometrics Experience Today

After submitting my DACA renewal in late June, I was given a biometrics appointment scheduled for today. I got back home a while ago and wanted to share the experience and ask a question or two.

I got married between my last DACA renewal and my current one and upon getting married, hyphenated my last name. When I sent my most recent renewal in, I used my new legal name and included a copy of the marriage certificate, which shows the name change (and is a legal doc).

After I got to the USCIS application support center, they actually had me see an immigration officer, which was interesting. The guy checking people in flagged my paperwork as needing a name review since my current EAD had my original last name, but my biometrics letter had my new last name per the renewal application I submitted. The immigration officer asked to see my marriage certificate and asked me to confirm the nature of the change to my last name and then signed off and had go back to checking in. Thought that was interesting.

I finally had my picture and fingerprints taken. When the tech took my fingerprints, the computer flagged some on my left hand as poor quality. She re-took them, but they were still flagged. She said since I have some creases in my skin on my fingers, the computer is flagging them. She said that for this session, she would submit them as-is, but that there is a small chance I may be called back to re-do the fingerprints so they can compare two different sets.

My question: Has this fingerprint issue happened to any of you? Have you ever been called back in to re-do fingerprints?

Congrats on the renewal.

I had a similar fingerprint issue last time I did the biometric so the tech kept re-doing my finger a couple of times until the machine was satisfied.

I was not called back to re-do my fingerprints after that.

Yeah, I ended up not being called back in and got the card is being produced status a couple days after biometrics.
