“In Wait and See Territory” - Parliamentarian’s Decision May Come As Early As Today

A reporter tweeted these. A Democratic aide told him the decision may come as early as today, but it may not.
It is almost the end of the work hours at Congress (5:30 PM EST), so there might not be any news regarding the decision although a late announcement (as late as 9 PM) is possible.

The reporter also mentions that no news might be good news because historically, news on Fridays is bad for immigration. So, no news dump today might be a good thing (historically).

LOL

Well… I still thought I would post it because I know a lot of people are nervously waiting for any news.
But, no news is also news in this case.

^Yup, agreed. It was just funny how the tweets were stated.

T-minus 13 days until the federal fiscal year ends.

I will be shocked if she allows legalization for most of us through reconciliation. You can make an argument that any issues has an economic impact and 99% of those issues have legislation addressing the problem.

I think this is a way out for the DEMS to say we tried but not our fault since parlimentarian rejected our argument. The only way I see us getting legalization is getting 10+ Republicans or keeping the House and picking up 2-3 more senate seats which is plausible. Then if Sinema/Manchin don't want to get rid of the filibuster or reform it Dems would still have 2-3 more senators in favor of it. Dems have a great shot of winning Wisconsin, PA, Ohio with a moderate Dem running there.

It's next to impossible for Dems to pick up any seats in the Senate. They are destined to lose in the next election, UNLESS they pass reconciliation with as many reforms as possible including for immigration. And even then, it's no walk in the park.
