New Introduced Bill Would Severely Hinder DACA

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/mik...4dpJx7ypZQRWnw

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, is introducing the "America First Act" on Wednesday, which would change the requirements outlined in the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act to explicitly exclude people in the country illegally, including those granted asylum, those who are paroled into the country or people being withheld from deportation.

According to the bill DACA would not even qualify for Tax Credits and several other things anymore.

GOOD JOB UNITED WE DREAM!!

This legislation if enacted would codify an exclusion for DACA people, but would also likely outlive the DACA program. Would the exclusion still apply if there is nobody to exclude? Legally yes.

I wish they would codify laws in terms of a computer program. That way you can plug in variables and get a result that is deterministic and not subject to the feelings of a judge. I.e. in traffic court the guy before you angers the judge so now you are screwed. Doesn't seem right that you need a special law-wizard to have a snowballs chance in hell against the judicial-legal system. Anyone that represents themselves in court is doomed from the start.

Speaking of wizards, I was driving the other day and I saw someone jaywalk across the street wearing robes. Its actually kind of impressive that our modern society contains both advanced technology and wizards. I like this. I've been telling people that we need more wizards.

I don't think I've ever used, or even qualify for these programs. Maybe the school lunch program from back in the day, but that horse has left the barn. They really do think that we are up to our eyeballs in benefits and what not. That if they just cut all the bennies everyone will withdraw?

Thats not the attractant because if you check the requirements only citizens and in some cases permanent residents are eligible. And who would be the citizens? The US-born children of illegal immigrants. It only takes a moment to verify the truth, but that is a step too far for them. The attractant is the wages and legislatively throwing the people who hire illegal immigrants in jail is political suicide. These people overwhelmingly vote republican AND benefit from illegal immigrant labor for their businesses, goods, and services.

They both:
1. Don't know the requirements to qualify for benefits
2. Think immigration is a simple easy form or test

and finally:
They refuse to learn the truth and apply a minimal amount of critical thought.

I was actually talking about DogJuiceMan. Back in 2017-2018, we were at each other’s throats. It’s been 7ish years and I think we’ve both changed. For the better.

BOnlyFans: I don’t know who you are besides a rando Trump supporter lol.

I had entirely forgotten what our beef was and had to look at the archives. Just beef over trivial nonsense. Has it really been 7 years?! Where does the time go. I hope you are doing well and have gotten your GC at least. I went to Grad school and I am employed doing software engineering with one of the fortune 100s. Yes my grammar is still bad, thankfully nobody cares in software.

They even offered H1B but I recklessly/stupidly turned it down multiple times preferring the unrestricted work permit over the path to GC. We'll see how the gamble turns out.

Time flies I suppose. Still have DACA (though parents have GCs now—no change in their life and no plans to naturalize which does, unfortunately, make me resentful of them), which is tough. However, I was able to save up a lot of money while working for a few years, and I’m now in med school with a full ride. As long as I keep doing my day to day, I’ll get my MD. However, let’s see if I end up actually being able to go to residency or practice.

Maybe the closest situation to what you faced was a series of dates I had with this guy early this year. He was absolutely obsessed with me and mostly a gentleman. The ultimate simp. However, I was not attracted to him and no matter what I did, there was no way for me to develop a sense of respect and attraction to him. In hindsight, I wonder if I had stayed with him, he would’ve proposed after Trump’s election and I would be filing paperwork to adjust my status right now. I’m single still and most of the guys I go for are emotionally unavailable /not into me anyway (such is the state of a gay man). I imagine that it might have been better to be unhappy in a relationship with a green card compared to unhappily single/dating scum and with no green card. C’est la vie I guess.

Also grammar doesn’t matter. I was a snotty nosed teenager/20 year old. And ChatGPT exists for all that crap.

You can be rest assured that the big time immigrant groups will come out swinging against this. As long as they are in DC, nothing is happening.
