flying was my original alternative but my mom doesn't feel like it would be safe, she's worried that they would somehow check for some sort of status once i arrive at an airport in chicago or...

I am planning to take an Amtrak Train from Tucson, AZ to Chicago, IL and I'm wondering if they would ask me for some sort of ID to board my train. My itinerary would also include a 4 hour bus ride...
