Renewing Driver License while waiting for daca renew approval?

If I'm waiting for my approval of the daca and my driver license expired can I go to the dmv and get a temporary paper by showing I sent my renewal papers to renew my daca? Or do I have to wait until...

I received a letter saying I had to take my EAD to renew it and didn't say anything about re taking the test. Im in California. I will read the letter again when i get home and post it up for you...

Im currently not working right now, But it will affect me for my driver license if it takes longer than 9/23 to get my new EAD :(
I will be with out a DR until I receive my EAD.

No, Nothing about re doing my written and driving test. They just says to take my EAD so they can re new it.

I know :( I didn't realize my permit was expiring already.. I am completing all the forms today and file as soon as i get the money.

Huh? Isn't it the same thing? If you renew it it's gonna be for 2 more years too.. That's 4 years In total ...

It's better to get it for 5-6 years and know for sure you will have a DL for that...
