it sounds that way. you'll probably have to wait a year before you can qualify for in-state tuition. FIU offers waivers so that even though you are still considered out of state they cover part of...

I contacted both FAU and FIU and they both said that I would have to wait for a year after receiving deferred action/getting a driver license to qualify for in-state tuition to establish residency....
