I applied to many scholarships while I was working on my basics and was able to get about 5 different scholarships without the need of doing volunteering. Search for scholarships within the field...

Called them to make sure they have your documents. My friend's documents got lost when she was asked for a RFE and had to resend them.

My best friend applied on Oct 17th 2012, got and RFE in December, and finally got approved yesterday through the Nebraska Service Center. I'm happy for her! And for everyone that's been approved.

I've worked as a contractor in the past and what I've done to file my taxes is use my ITIN in place of the SS. As an independent contractor, you will also have to take care of taxes from the money...

I agree, there is no need to rush. Focus your energies on finding a job and staying out of trouble. Credit cards are a double-edged sword.
