The sickness in question does not have to be severe, I was granted advance parole because my dad, who lives in Mexico, had a knee surgery and I asked to assist him while he recovered in Mexico....

I called USCIS customer service after I had received my receipt number in the mail. They approved it in 5 days.

Thanks for the advice Malignon. I just asked my dad for evidence from his doctor, I hope it helps. How long does it take to hear back from USCIS to know if I have been approved or not?

It's not that easy. I am also married to a USC and I have to get advance parole to overrule my EWI when I first got here as a child. And getting your EAD helps getting a job which helps to state why...

You don't. All you do is go back into the DMV office so they can give you a print out of your driver's license. It took about 5 minutes.
