There are ways to avoid using Mac to create iphone apps, but rather than spending time screwing around with emulators and stuff, I prefer working on a native environment. I can afford it anyway.

I'm a Windows guy, as I'm used to dealing with Windows servers and PCs, even programmed in VB & VBScript once. Decent Windows laptops can be had for much cheaper than Macs, so you can spend the rest...
