Update in my signature but my I-765 was approved on 9/8/2017 - was supposed to expire mid-December 2017. I-821D approved today!

Best case scenario - they accept it and you get an additional 2 years

Worst case scenario - you lose $500...

I would say just send the application in and hope for the best!

Wow, lucky you. They told me I would have to wait for this letter to "verify" my status, even though I had the original copies from USCIS. I just hope that letter doesn't take forever to come in.

For anyone in Texas, when you went to apply for a first-time ID card/DL did they tell you they would have to verify with Dept. of Homeland Security and DHS would then send a letter to your home...
