True, but it's your right to follow up on your application. If they keep you in the blind then it's difficult to know whether the process is pending at DHS database or approved and awaiting SSA...

Yes, this particular office is not willing to tell whether the number is issued or not let alone give me a print out. All they keep telling me is to wait for the card or any notice in the mail.
