Just wondering, can I apply for an SSN while this govt shutdown is occurring? I'm just hesitant in going to the office to apply. If not, can I go and just apply for a drivers license?...

So after 1 year and 10 days, my older brother and I got approved on the same day. It was a very long and struggling wait. My question is, what do I do now? I haven't received my card yet...

I hope, but I'm pretty sure it can still take up to 6 months after being transferred to a different service center. I won't get my hopes too high up

New York :/ On the website, it said my app was transferred to a local USCIS office. Then, the next day, I got a letter saying it was sent to Nebraska Service Center.

App Received: Sept. 14th, 2012...
