There is no letter for the I-765. The paper that your card is attached to is what you'll need for your renewal, but it's not absolutely required to submit.

I mailed it out 12/1, but they didn't receive it until 12/3. Since I was really nervous about submitting it too early (and due to other unforeseen circumstances), I submitted it exactly 4 months...
