No Mexican passport, he does have an ID from Mexico. As far as I know, you need 2 forms of ID at airports in US.

I wasn't asked about employment prior to having a social. I was worried sick but the interview lasted about 15 minutes. Longest minutes of my life, but worth every second :)

I got a new EAD, then got an AP document & then my Green Card. The EAD & AP came separate.

I submitted my AP application on 10/01/15 and got my approval on 11/09/15, so about a month. I didn't ask for specific dates, but I had to return by 01/30/2016.
