I agree with Ianus. I don't want to be a buzz kill but introduction of the bill in late March, according to NAKASEC's timeline, is just the first step towards the Dream Act. In 2007, Durbin introduced Dream in March and didn't get debated until October 2007. Granted, Dream was attached to the CIR bills debated in May and June 2007. Also, Durbin tried to attach Dream to a military budget bill in July 2007 but was forced to withdraw it because of lack of time to introduce and debate the bill.

We don't really know when Dream Act will be debated (or attached to CIR), but the introduction of the bill is definitely a good step. I hope we get our Dream debate on the floor sooner rather than later.

EDIT: Forgot to add that Durbin tried again to attach to some bill in Sept. 2007 but was forced to withdraw because of a filibuster threat by the Republicans.
