Renewable Student Visas instead of a Conditional Path to Citizenship.
Sen. Hutchison's letter to a constituent (I don't want to link because the place it would link to is dumb):
Quote:

I voted in favor of the cloture motion to bring this legislation to the Senate floor for consideration. My vote on this motion was in no way an endorsement of the DREAM Act legislation. In fact, I was prepared to introduce an amendment that would have replaced the language of the DREAM Act that had been proposed by Senator Durbin. My alternative sought to remove any form of amnesty. It did not promote any automatic path to citizenship, and it placed tighter parameters on those who sought to advance their college education as the courts and Texas state law have allowed. I voted for cloture on the motion to proceed to the consideration of the bill with the understanding that my bipartisan amendment would have replaced the original language of the bill.

But we should still try to convince her and tell her it's not an "automatic" path to citizenship. That's why she's listed as On the Fence.
