Sometimes I think of Arizona as the barren, gun-crazy, ultra-conservative, thinly-veiled racist version of California.

I know that's a stereotype, and I apologize to Arizonans who aren't like this--the majority of them, of course--but it's hard to control that image from popping up when I read stories like this.
