Rachel's show is mostly watched by people who are actually familiar with politics and the political process. If she's able to convince them that the DA is progressive enough, these are the kind of viewers who will take the time to make their voices heard. Oprah viewers might shed a tear or two, and nod their heads a couple times, but my guess is that not a lot of them will be compelled to pick up the phone and call their senators.

I'm gay, but I don't think she cares so much about that. I think she likes fishing though, so maybe say something fishing-y when you contact her
