that's a definite possibility from the standpoint of power-hungry politicians. we maybe in dire urgent need, but they're not. they've got a whole lotta other things on their plates.

what we lack is overwhelming public support over this. we see small time poll agencies claim that 60-70% of americans support CIR with a sample size of 100 (lol), but i look around and i just dont see the same sentiment indicative of that percentage. for example, read public comments below every immigration related news article....majority of them are bigoted and anti-CIR. of course, thats not indicative of what the average american might think, and people who leave those comments are the ones who feel so strongly against it (and those who may feel pro or neutral about it wouldnt even care to post unless they are passionate advocates), but its certainly disheartening.
