Don't buy this crap. Navarrete is a Republican so it's in his best interest to blame it on Democrats and pretend like Republicans actually care about us.

The fact still remains that the only reason immigration hasn't been brought up for a vote is Republican obstructionism.

I wrote this almost 10 days ago:

Republicans are the only ones to blame here.

The right to filibuster legislation is meant to achieve key compromises between both parties, but Republicans are filibustering every single bill, even if they don't find anything wrong with them, just for the sake of prolonging the debate. Democrats have been forced to invoke cloture for almost all legislation passed so far, and it doesn't seem like Republicans are willing to cooperate in the future.

Just today, a handful of Republicans filibustered a bill to give the FDA more authority over tobacco regulations. Because of this, they could spend up to 30 hours bickering about something that's already certain to pass anyway. By the way, days since their last filibuster: one - yesterday.

It's because of this abuse of power by Republicans that all bills including, health care reform, energy bills, immigration reform etc. keep getting pushed back, and so little progress is being made.
They ended up dragging the vote on the tobacco bill until this week. As you can see, this is all Republican obstructionism and their fundamental opposition to progress so let's be rational about these news and look at the bigger picture instead.
