Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, took to "FOX News Sunday" to reject the push for immigration reform.

"I just don't think this is the right time to take up this issue, with the border security problems, the drug wars going on across the border, 10 percent unemployment. It just strikes me that our time would be better spent at the federal level on other issues," he said.

Sometimes I think that Mitch McConnell speaks solely because he likes to hear the sound of his empty head rattle. Lol. He is so stupid: "We can't tackle immigration reform this year because we have to 'secure the borders,'" but of course that is sine qua non for us to get any Republican support; immigration reform would by its very nature have to do "secure the borders" to get any of McConnell's empty-headed Republocrat colleagues to get on board.

The philosopher wonders what the Republocrats were doing for eight years since 9/11 since they were supposed to be the ones ensuring American security.

Supporters of the Arizona measure have called it a step in the right direction, taking action to deal with the challenge of millions of illegal immigrants in the country. "We in Arizona have been more than patient waiting for Washington to act," Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said Sunday. "Decades of federal inaction and misguided policy have created a dangerous and unacceptable situation."

....Chambliss said, "If that's what the people of Arizona want to do, then certainly they have that right."

Georgia Republocrats are even more empty-headed than mainstream Republocrats. One wonders if they believe in the constitution at all--considering this is clearly unconstitutional on Arizona's part to assert power over federal matters.

I have been thinking about it a lot this weekend, and I think this is the only reason that air-headed Governor Brewer signed it: she knew she would destroy any political future in Arizona if she didn't, but she must have also realized the courts will strike it down so fast it will make her head spin. Either that, or she is brain dead and doesn't understand the constitution with even a seventh grader's ability of political comprehension.
