This article pretty much shows the irony of the senators' actions in congress. They prevent the DA and AgJOBS from passing in an effort to boost the chances of a far-fetched CIR from passing.
Durbin pretends that there is no urgency for the DA to pass, citing that he has asked he ICE officials not to deport students. However, these deportations are continuously happening. We need to solve this issue
now, but clearly passing one big CIR package will take too long; we need to pass some piecemeal resolution as soon as possible to alleviate some of the problems people are currently dealing with.

A victim of the San Francisco-based ex-attorney Walter Pineda -- who defrauded immigrant clients out of thousands of dollars to bring long-shot asylum cases that had little chance of winning -- faces deportation Thursday if she cannot win a last-minute reprieve from immigration authorities.

Hopefully Durbin & Co. will realize their request for the halting of deportation of students is not being honored and will attempt to do something about it.
