I would agree with you about the haters, except for one thing. Two of my closest friends are or were at one point haters.

One of them changed their position after getting to know Spanish people (girlfriend and her family) on an intimate level. Another one of them said they supported the Dream Act after he heard my story.

Yes, there will always be some people who will be blind haters, racist and do not care for logic, reason and reality.

But there are so many more who take the position only because they don't know any better. Give them some facts, some truth, some reality and see how their minds will be changed.
