Let's tell our leaders the truth: "DREAMers" are patriotic young Americans in all but paperwork. They were brought to the U.S. at a young age, and deserve a chance to earn their citizenship by serving in the military or going to college -- so they can fully give back to the nation they call home.

Economists have shown that these promising youth would earn trillions and strengthen our ailing Social Security system. Military leaders have argued that they would excel as servicemen and women, keeping our country safe and secure.

But unless we speak up now, anti-immigrant politicians and their echo chambers will smear, lie, and demonize their way to killing the common-sense DREAM Act.
