Since civil rights in the 1960s, Republicans deliberately have sought to win the vote of whites in the South by exploiting the latent racism here. More relevant for this forum, they are now stoking hatred toward toward the undocumented--with racist undertones--in their electioneering and rhetoric. This has been the case since 2006/2007, and it gets worse by the day. It is easy to say that Republicans were our advocates years back, but they are currently not. Witness the 2010 gubernatorial election here in Georgia: Nathan Deal actually ran ads deliberately intended to spark fear of Mexicans, with one that went so far as to say Roy Barnes wants to take jobs from Americans and give them to Mexicans, and another that lied to say Barnes tried to make it so illegals could vote.

Democrats don't do this kind of crap, no matter what their other failings are.
