"...In a Gallup poll released Friday, 54 percent of Americans said they would vote for a law that would create a route to citizenship for immigrants who had gone to college or served in the military. Forty-two percent said they would vote against the bill.

Support broke down along partisan lines. Among Democrats, 66 percent said they would vote for the DREAM Act, while 31 percent said they would vote against it.

Thirty-four percent of Republicans said they support the bill, while 63 percent said they were opposed to it. Nearly 60 percent of independents said they would vote for the law.

I believe it shows that the DREAM ACT still has wide range of support, both from REPUBLICANS and DEMOCRATS, and we should not get discouraged from hearing/reading negative articles and comments in the news.
We must find a way somehow to persuade more of the general public to support this legislation, along with their members of the congress from respectful states.

We should understand that most of the members are actually reasonable and sympathetic towards us, but they are in a very tight spot to decide, because they must at all times listen to their constituents back home.

Therefore, it is important we send out positive aspects of ourselves, at all times. Even a little negative impression can hurt us very much.
Unlike you and I, the voices of the american people can be heard much louder and can greatly influence their representatives at the hill, and we must use this ability to our advantage.
