Yes his mom became a US citizen a few years ago. I'm not too sure how the story goes but it had to do with their dad who filed for her but not the kids. The father was out of the picture though when they all came back to the US and he (my husband) was a kid (5 yrs old).

So they stayed here, his mom ended up getting a green card and she just became a citizen around 2002/3 then files for them (my husband and his sister). My husband and his sister have both been here since ages 5 & 3 and are still illegal now.

Its stupid really, his mom is now a citizen, we're married (me & our 2 kids are all US citizens) and his sister is also married to a US citizen with 2 kids from US as well.

The last lawyer we went to said post Apr 2001 there really isn't anything we can do but pray for some law to go into effect (Dream Act or something similar). All lawyers have advised us not to go to MX and I definitely will NOT go to Juarez (where we'd have to go anyway) if I can help it.
