and that's it, i hope they take away the 10 year waiting period before becoming residents, that seems too extreme.
I understand the need for more stringent requirements, but 1, 3, and 4 are all pretty arbitrary.
  • Lowering the age cap is unjust.
  • Paying the fine is unjust as it signifies a concession of guilt for some crime or offense. The whole point of the DREAM Act is granting benefits to those who committed no wrong doing to begin with.
  • Not being able to sponsor anyone is also unjust as in the event that a DREAM Act beneficiary gains citizenship in 20 or so years, they would then be considered lesser-class citizens, as they would not hold the same rights as other citizens. You can't have two types of citizens. Incidentally, I think a fundamental flaw with the constitution is the requirement for a president to be a native born American citizen. This suggests that a natural born citizen holds more rights than naturalized citizens. God damn, America is fucking stupid to its core. I know me saying this must be sending some Birthers more bat-shit insane than they already are.
