I come from Texas were we do immigration right. The GI bill paid for my college education and now are paying for me to work on my masters as I work full time. But even we are at a point were we cannot handle all we do for immigrants in our state. Hell if you are legal or not legal in Texas and your in the top 5% of your class you go to any state University free of charge. This paying for college tuition is going to be a huge issue in states like Texas and California because we just cannot afford it any more. Like California has had to cut the number of classes offered in all there State colleges to cut the budget so you are going to have a legitimate argument of students not being able to get classes should an illegal immigrant be able to take that seat? We are going to find out here in the next year or so . Again I am 100% for the Dream Act and giving citizenship to that select group but I am also 1000% that after that no more none. Dreamers need to be for every illegal restriction on immigration that comes out everything from chain migration,E-verify etc because these are the issue that will get the country to pass it but only when they know that there will be no more. Reagan gave 4 million amnesty in a bill that had all these enforcements in it and none of them were acted on leading to 12-18 million more illegal immigrants. These non actions are why the country feels burned on this issue and the only thing that is going to get them behind this is if they no it will not happen again and we have complete control of our immigration system after that point. I think Veterans like myself are probably the most understanding of any group on this issue you cannot fight for freedom of your citizens then realistically be behind taking it from people but I also no when it has to be stopped we cannot afford or protect our country if the world wants to move into our country. I am sure people on here are starting to get the message and rather than calling people racist etc they are smart enough to understand what the deal is. Again there is no other country in this world that would allow what has gone on here with immigration not one. In most of the countries around the world they would either jail you then escort you across the border by gun point or do what we have seen going on Mexico and kill them that is the reality of the world today.
