I just hate how you and every single pseudo-political hack shit on Obama when if you knew anything on how the system works, expect him to wave around some magical wand and make everything he wants happen. He could have pushed this in 2009 after coming into office but let's be honest with ourselves, it still wouldn't have passed. Those 5 blue dogs were still in congress and they didn't have the balls to vote for some common sense legislation. If anything, complain about McCain, Hatch, Collins, Snowe, Hutchinson, Graham and all of the republicans who previously supported the DREAM Act but in an effort to shit on Obama voted NO...blame them not Him.

Hey, thanks for your reply. Of course I blame the Republicans who turned their backs on us.
But Obama is still to blame. He is smart and knows that whether it should or should not be, immigration reform is considered "controversial." His best chance at passing it would have been 2009. That's when our numbers were the best that there were ever going to be.
He was just inaugurated... his approval ratings were sky high... it was before the stimulus bill... it was before the Tea Party... it was before Birthers took over the Republican party... we still had Burris and Kennedy in the Senate. Even with those two, for DREAM, we'd be about 3 votes short, right? Well, I think at the time, we could have convinced 3 more.
Now? No chance in Hell is it happening, with the way Republicans and the Tea Party have been behaving. I am saying, the only way immigration reform is going to happen now is if we have 218 liberal Democrats in the House, 60 liberal Democrats in the Senate, and a Democratic president who isn't a loser like Obama is (which is not going to happen anytime soon, surely not in the next election.)
Get married people, fuck all politicians.
