Improve the way the DREAM Act is currently written and force Republicans to compromise on an enforcement measure, combining the DA with E-verify. Or, start pushing for CIR. Cornyn's statements on the need for CIR really make me think that CIR has a chance before the 2012 elections if significant pressure is put on from people, legislators, and Obama. I want to be optimistic and believe that a compromise can be reached, regardless of the presence of ultra-rightists in this congress.

Also, when Cornyn says that DA is only a band-aid to the US immigration system, so is the stand-alone E-Verify. So, why isn't Cornyn bashing Grassely? E-verify by itself does not address this country's brokem immigration system and the fact that 11 to 12 million people need to be legalized. Some of Cornyn's statements seem so illogical although this legislator does raise a few valid concerns.
