Actually parents fall into the 'immediate relative' category of immigrants who are forgiven the 10-year ban for being an overstay.

But anyway... I think it's 10 years of special-residency status and then 5 years of LPR status before you can apply for citizenship. 15 years to wait to legalize your parents is a looong time.
